“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields,
that it kisses them so gently?
No, probably not.
Sorry, that was stupid.
Hey, anyone wanna hit this bong?”
― Lewis Carroll
How was your week? Was it snowy? Or are you one of my 4 friends who lives in LA or Florida?
The wife and I made a trip back to ol’ New York City for a few days, just in time for the biggest blizzard in 5 years.
We went for a walk in Central Park where we saw an extremely New York thing: a snowman with a stolen head.
But before we’d been able to make it back to NYC, we needed someone to plow our very long driveway.
On Yelp, there was only one result for ‘snow removal’. He had just one review, but it was five stars.
Kurt’s been plowing my driveway for years. Does a great job. A bit of a wild man!
“A bit of a wild man.”
The mind boggled. How EXACTLY was Kurt a wild man? And more importantly, what would that mean for us?
Would Kurt do wheelies on our driveway?
Would he clear out the snow and then throw a toga party?
Did people actually throw toga parties, or was that just something I saw in Revenge of the Nerds?
I mean, it was a five-star review, so maybe Kurt’s “wild side” was part of the appeal.
Maybe he made raunchy jokes like, “I’m great at plowing, just ask MY WIFE.”
Hahaha. Oh, Kurt!
Or maybe he wore funny hats, like:
Who knows, maybe Kurt would turn out to be the coolest, most funnest dude I’d ever meet. Maybe we’d become besties!
I called Kurt. He said he’d be right over, after he finished helping his daughter with her homework.
Yeah, I could tell already: This guy was an animal.
ANTIQUE OF THE WIQUE
There’s a lot of antiques stores in upstate New York. You’ll find a new discovery here every week!
This week’s antique is……..
A Talking Shrek Cookie Jar!
I can’t see this getting annoying as fuck, can you?
